MÓNICA LAIRANA ( Director)
The short film ROSA is her debut as a director and screenwriter.
The script for “ROSA” has won two prizes in Argentina: Best Script at the Rio Gallegos Film Festival, and Best Project at the prestigious script competition “HISTORIAS BREVES VI” (Short Stories Vl) organized by the National Film Institute (INCAA). The award includes the film’s entire shooting and post-production budget.
The Historias Breves contest offers young directors a chance to make their professional début at the highest industrial film level. It is a great breeding ground for Argentine films since it showcases promising young directors’ first works,” says filmmaker Bebe Kamin, who is the production coordinator for the project. Since its first edition in 1995, the Historias Breves National Contest has launched the careers of currently renowned Argentine directors such as Lucrecia Martel, Adrián Caetano and Daniel Burman, among others."
